Maternity Pictures :)
I won't take up space with a lot of words. Jes came and did a private viewing of our pictures at our home on Sunday afternoon, which was awesome! RCW and I adored all of them and it was hard to choose a few select few to have printed. By the end of the slideshow of pictures I was crying, oh pregnancy hormones. I was worried about how the pictures would turn out and then I was worried about how I would look, but in the end I love the pictures and I'm oh so happy we decided to have them done. Now, I'm anxiously anticipating Jes coming back to our house and doing her newborn photoshoot with Baby W!

36 Week Checkup
On Friday, RCW and I headed to our first weekly appointment at 36 weeks, 2 days. Its getting entirely TOO real at this point.
Not only are we at weekly appointments, but the friends in real life and in the blogosphere who were due before me are dwindling to just a handful. Two lovelies had their babies this weekend, one yesterday, a little boy and one *should* be having her's today, another little boy and KJPug's nephew!
So, to update anyone who cares...per my Friday checkup, I'm half a centimeter dilated, 50% effaced and still in -2 position. My OB likes giving extra ultrasounds so since she just can't be quite sure of Baby's position and at 20 weeks, he/she was breach, we'll be having an ultrasound next Friday morning to be 100% certain of babe's position.
Hopefully next Friday we'll know if a scheduled c-section is in our future or not!

Fur Baby Friday
Mrs. Monologues

Mrs. Monologues started a new link - Fur Baby Friday. In an effort not to neglect Dallas, Loucie and Sonny, I decided I would try to link up with her on Fridays. After all, they are the first babies in house. And we'll see how they respond to 4th new addition! Dallas should be the most interesting of all since I often believe she's ready for her fursister and furbrother to leave on a daily basis so she can go back to being the one and only!
RCW snapped this pic on Tuesday night. We were watching Glee, with RCW on the sofa and me trying to alleviate some round ligament pains sitting on an exercise ball. All three pups climbed onto the sofa behind me and snuggled in together.
I think they're adorable.
RCW named this snapshot "3 Headed Monster".

Birth Photography
If any of you ventured over to our photographer's website or Facebook page you may have noticed that she does more than just maternity and newborn pictures. She also does birth photography.
And that is why we chose Jes to be our photographer.
Some of you may be more familiar with birth photography in terms of home births with midwives and doulas, but we're bucking the trend and we'll be taking our birth photographer to the hospital with us. Jes has done a couple hospital birth sessions, but yes, she mainly is present at home births. If you're interested, her work is amazing! She has a great documentary style of photography.
Now you may be wondering why in the world we hired a birth photographer. And I admit, I did have to work a bit to convince RCW why this was important. Here are my reasons...
- We document every other aspect of our lives, why would we not document this one?
- The only person in the delivery room, besides our doctors and nurses, will be RCW. He will be busy holding my hand and coaching me and getting me through labor and delivery. I didn't want him to also be responsible for taking pictures.
- Thus I started the search for a birth photographer.
We will call Jes when we go into labor at home and then call her again when we head to the hospital. She will meet us there and document the whole experience. She'll stay in the room when we deliver Baby W. and hopefully be able to snap some images such as the crowning and the first moments Baby W. is put on my chest and us finding out if its a boy or girl. She'll also stay an hour or two post delivery to take our first family picture and any other images. And I am super excited!
I've told RCW that even if I never look at some of the more graphic images, I want them. This could be our one and only pregnancy and I wanted it documented.
If we end up with a C-section, she will not be allowed in the operating room, but she will be there to document before and after. If we end up with a C-section, we'll have our personal camera and RCW will be in charge of snapping pictures at that point! I'm hoping it doesn't go that route, but however, we need to get Baby W. is what has to happen.
Anyone else out there take pictures or video of the birth? I told RCW he was lucky I didn't recruit a film crew like I did for our wedding!
And no, don't worry, I have final say over what images Jes can use and post so a crowning shot won't be all over the web and I don't plan on sharing the more intimate images. These really are just for RCW and I to look back on. I don't think I'll even be opting to share them with our families, much less posting out in the blogosphere!
